Sikap MPP UiTM – Tak Cermin Wakil Pelajar

Posted: June 8, 2008 in Uncategorized

Jadi, MPP ubahlah, kita pelajar bukan bodoh, bukan budak sekolah, tetapi mahasiswa!

Salam. I was there during the MPP Roadtour at Teratai last semester. I wish I was there yesterday, I had two meetings to attend at the same time.

Regarding the meal allowance, I can’t recall who reponded to that matter and what did he/she say. maybe it was me. But I do remember that I answered about the buses from UiTM man campus to section 17. Hmm…

So may say that MPP are pro-university, hence the name pro-aspirasi university. However, the matter is different in UiTM. It is not true that MPP UiTM only is single party, but actually no party at all. Each and everyone is his/her own party. Believe me.

When it comes to that matter last semester, the system was done to minimize the loss suffered by the university. MPP gained nothing whatsoever when the university made that decision. I myself had to have a routine visit to the cafe just to make sure my RM4 is claimed each day. I’ve also asked around, both students and the cafe owners about the new system. Students would as usual express their disgruntle. The cafe owners also said that they get less profit compared to the previous semesters.

So, I asked the Dato himself as about the univ’s decision. It was due to the univ was losing much money if the old system was used, especially when the duration is done monthly. He does agree to look into stretching the duration from 1 day to 1 week, as there are many requests from students, both MPP and the rest. I think, that’s why the system is chaged this semester. Kudos to all, I guess🙂

Having said all that, I also feel sad that students are still clueless about the difference between rights and privilege. The allowance is undeniablly a privillege, not a right. When the students ask that as if its a major concern, it saddens me that the MPP still has a lot to do to reeducate our students a par as other IPTAs’ students. At their roadtours, they will query about the oil price, ISA, AUKU, Palestine, etc., whereas our student is still a university student with high students’ mentality.

I might agree with the blogger saying that our MPP may not reflecting the representatives f the students, but to me, I am most saddened when UiTM students are not reflecting the intellectuality of a world class university. (sigh)

  6. Tsir Ah Xuan – thank you for your comment…

about the money the univ lost – to me it is better they lose money just to give a bit of comfort for students – rather than losing money on the waterfall and the ‘number 8 like’ pool next to the canseleri.

about the world class univ – this status can only be gained when the students, at most have this world class mentality – but our univ ask the govt to declare this univ to be so – regardless of the fact that, the students are still not qualified to be called world class univ students.

the univ – for so long – deprived us of our freedom – the best way to make us a world class students is to free us – let us say anything we want as long it is not defamatory or slanderous to anybody – let us speak about this country and its future – we are the future leaders…

about no party in itm – regardless what is the status quo regarding this issue – campus election must reflect the reality of real election – as that was the purpose of establishment of this so called campus election – only by having opposition in itm – students can voice their dissatisfaction with the govt through the proper channel – people like you will not do so – as all of you comply with everything said by the univ…

    for a better malaysia!
